About the Owner
James “Chris” Gayer started his construction career as a Tuckpointer / Caulking specialist with the Bricklayer Union Local 6 and was there for 17yrs. He smashed his ankle during a job which made it hard to do this type of work. The climbing on scaffolding and being on a swing stage (this is a platform that you see window washers use on high rise buildings), made him unstable with a bad ankle. So, he decided to get into another field of “construction”. He joined a company that did mudjacking, caulking, waterproofing, foundation repair, E-Gress windows, crawlspace encapsulation….and whatever new thing that came along that they could add to their list of services to offer a customer. After doing this for 10yrs, he didn’t like trying to be a jack-of-all trades. So, he looked into owning a business himself.
Top Notch Mudjacking started with 3 owners in the Spring of 2017. Two of the original owners have since retired. They all took extra training at HMI, for both traditional Mudjacking and Poly foam up in Wisconsin. They decided to stay with the traditional way of mudjacking because they wanted to offer customers a good product at a fair price. We didn’t want to try to upsell the homeowner on anything else a salesman saw, while giving an estimate. We specialize in Mudjacking (concrete lifting) an age-old proven method to raise sunken sidewalks, steps, driveways, garage floors, patios, pool aprons, warehouse floors even Grain Bins. And hand troweled caulking. That’s why we do traditional mudjacking and caulking only. We do “one thing” and we do it right.
James lives in Andalusia, IL, so you will be supporting a small business that is locally owned and operated who believes in honesty and quality work. We are not associated with any other company, locally or nationally. Your money will help support your community.
If you had other companies, come out to look at your project and were told it couldn’t be done, call us, we always offer FREE estimates, so why not make us one of them. No-obligations, no pressure tactics, just a fair and friendly estimate from the owner of the company. Who, by the way, is on every job doing the project along with his employee(s).
Over the past 9 years (seasons) we have completed over 2,000 jobs. With our seasons typically running from late March / early April to early Nov.
